Survey objective

CAHPS for PQRS is a measure quality of care and compare patients’ experience with their primary healthcare provider and with the provider where they have been seen. The PQRS program applies to individual providers and group practices billing for covered services provided to Medicare Part B beneficiaries.

Survey detail

This survey includes questions about the quality of care in some of the following areas:

  • Visit planning
  • Provider communication
  • Practice outreach
  • Care coordination
  • Patient’s rating of provider

The CAHPS for PQRS Survey is conducted using mixed mode of mail and phone, limited to Medicare beneficiaries age 18 or older who are not known to be institutionalized or deceased. While similar CG CAHPS questions appear on both surveys, the surveys are not identical and cannot be substituted for one another.

Be prepared for MACRA

PQRS will sunset and replaced by the Quality Performance Category under the Quality Payment Program. SPH Analytics is a strong partner for measuring MACRA performance and reporting quality measures.
