As an advocate for the advancement of health information technology to help improve healthcare, SPH Analytics is a proud partner in promoting National Health IT Week this October 2-6, 2017. National Health IT Week is an awareness week offering all healthcare stakeholders an opportunity to unite under one banner, expressing the benefits that health information technology (IT) brings to U.S. healthcare.
Comprehensive standards of healthcare quality are not possible without system-wide adoption of health information technology, which improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcare providers.
Initiated in 2006 by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), National Health IT Week has emerged as a landmark occasion for using health IT as part of the overall solution to improve America’s healthcare as a bipartisan, federally led, market-driven initiative.
SPH is proud to partner with a cause that promotes several goals that so closely align with ours. This year’s National Health IT Week themes focus on ensuring value in four key areas:
National Health IT Week supports healthcare transformation through the many ways in which health IT is driving transformation in healthcare delivery including improvements in quality and safety, interoperability, advances in innovation, and patient and consumer activation and engagement.
SPH’s transformative solutions provide insights and performance improvement opportunities to physician groups, ACOs, hospitals, health plans, and integrated health networks. Our clinical and financial analytics, healthcare surveys, onsite call center, and consulting services empower healthcare providers to increase patient satisfaction and engagement, improve population health, and reduce the overall cost of care.
The second point of engagement promoted by National Health IT Week involves expanding access to high quality care through innovative technologies to improve healthcare access, coordination, and outcomes.
SPH also promotes this initiative by empowering healthcare organizations with resources and innovative technologies to monitor and improve clinical care, enhance the patient’s experience, and reduce costs to meet the Triple Aim.
Another National Health IT Week goal is to highlight the importance of a robust, diverse health IT workforce and health IT’s role in supporting economic growth.
SPH also champions economic growth with a strong and diverse workforce fully dedicated to the mission of improving healthcare for all. We believe our people are the best in the industry. Through their steadfast efforts and daily contributions, they continually demonstrate their commitment to improving healthcare and making a positive impact for patients everywhere.
National Health IT Week supports the fundamental role health IT plays in supporting population and public health.
At SPH, we take this role very seriously, and we are dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare by empowering our healthcare provider and health plan clients to meet the goals of the Triple Aim.
National Health IT Week consists of events across the country. Participants and partners include healthcare vendors, analytic and technology companies, provider organizations, payers, pharmaceutical/biotech companies, government agencies, industry/professional associations, research foundations, and consumer protection groups all working together to elevate national attention to the advantages of advancing health IT.
