Alpharetta, GA – SPH Analytics (SPH), the top ranked member satisfaction measurement firm in the health plan market, today announced that it had received designation as an Essential Business by the City of Fort Worth’s Code Compliance Department. This designation enables SPH to continue in-person operations for a limited set of personnel designated as Essential Personnel in its Fort Worth locations.
SPH received the Essential Business designation because its services fit into the category of Essential Health Care Services which provides exceptions to the shelter in place orders for “healthcare suppliers”; “any related and/or ancillary healthcare services”; and “all services to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the public.” SPH’s services meet this definition because they are provided directly in support of the mission of its healthcare clients and, in many cases, by clients who are required to conduct loyalty and quality research and measurements by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and/or the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Among other services and solutions, SPH Analytics conducts healthcare-specific market research and consumer outreach engagement services on behalf of the United States government, U.S. State governments, healthcare providers, and health plans. SPH also offers patient and member outreach services specifically pertaining to COVID-19 to its physician practice and health plan clients, helping to protect high-risk patients by connecting them with local providers and pharmacies, and educating them about risk factors, common symptoms, and other important information as determined by their health plan or medical provider. In determining that SPH is an Essential Business, the company referred specifically to its Call Center and Mail Center operations that support these healthcare-specific services, and which cannot be performed remotely. The SPH Call Center and Mail Center teams in Fort Worth have been designated as Essential Personnel.
“To be clear, all our teammates who have the capability to work remotely are doing so. In several of our business offices around the country, 100% of the staff are now working from home,” said Amy Amick, President and CEO of SPH Analytics. ”In the Fort Worth Call Center and Mail Center, however, many of our teammates do not have the capability or government agency permitted authorization to do their jobs remotely because of access to protected health information.”
Amick continued, “Our first and highest priority is the safety of our teammates. Within the Call Center and Mail Center, we meet or exceed all CDC recommendations and guidelines for minimizing the risk of exposure or transmission of the coronavirus. We have re-organized our Call Center and Mail Center workspaces and machinery to maintain a minimum of the required six-foot minimum distance between teammates. We continually practice enhanced sanitizing and disinfecting procedures and enhanced access control procedures that maintain physical distance. We are very proud of these teammates whose work is essential for supporting our healthcare clients during these challenging times.”
